Class Regulations

1).Class Times:

Each class period is 50 minutes with a 10-minute break. If the level of the class doesn't suit you, please go to the office and switch classes before the second Tuesday. You can switch classes one time only.

2).TOCFL Online Test Preparation:

Starting on the second Tuesday all students have a one-hour online test every week. You can complete the test from Wednesday to 12 midnight the following Tuesday. You can retake the test as many times as you like. The online test makes up 10% of your main course grade. ◎Website for the practice TOCFL::http://mlc.sce.pccu.edu.tw/ ◎Your account number is your student number ◎your password is your birthday (8 digits-YYYYMMDD).
3).Grade Calculation:

4).Classroom Rules

1.Only use Chinese when class is in session.
2.Do not use your cellphone or take calls during class to maintain a good learning environment.
3.To take a leave of absence, please fill out a 'leave of absence' form. First take it to your teacher, have them sign it, then go to the office for official approval. This is for your protection in case an issue comes up regarding your visa.

5).Expulsion or Repeating Courses

1.Expulsion due to absence: Students that are receiving a student visa must not be absent for any reason for more than 30 hours of their main and elective courses (this includes requested leaves of absence). If you are absent for more than 31 hours you will be expelled. Also, every class period is 50 minutes long, if you are more than 15 minutes late or leave more than 15 minutes early, this counts as one hour of absence.
2.Expulsion due to poor grades:Students that are receiving a student visa must have a grade above 60% in their main and elective courses or they will be expelled.
3.Repeating a course due to poor grades:Students that are receiving a student visa must have a grade above 70% in their main course or else they must repeat it, no matter how many times they've repeated already.
4.Repeating a course due to excessive absence:Students that are receiving a student visa must have a grade above 70% in their main class. If this is effected because of excessive absence or poor participation, a student must retake the level no matter how many times they've retaken already.

6).B4 Digital Learning Center

1.The school has a computer lab on floor B4. Students can go there to take the TOCFL online tests after class.
2.You may bring light snacks (i.e. bread or drinks) to the B4 digital learning center if you wish to eat and relax.

7).4th Floor MLC Office Services

1.If you have any concerns about your courses or visa issues, please ask our staff on the 4th floor
2.The office has MLC student volunteers who can help you talk to our staff. To see when someone that speaks your first language is present, please refer to the bulletin board in our office.

8).500 NTD Perfect Attendance Discount

1.When registering, if your main course is already finished and you have no absences, you will get 500 NTD off your next semester’s fees.
2.When registering, if your main course hasn't yet finished and you have no way to prove your perfect attendance,please hand in your tuition fees and we will reimburse you when your current course ends.
3.The MLC reserves the right to amend or stop this promotion at any time.

9).500 NTD Friend Referral Bonus

1.This applies to people that wish to attend an intensive group class (a full semester of 15 hours per week).
2.Every time you refer a friend you receive one point.
3.When you enroll for a full term of intensive group classes (every day for 3 hours), you can use a point to reduce your tuition by 500 NTD. You can use a maximum of 2 points per term.
4.Your points must be used within 2 years of referral.
5.The MLC reserves the right to change the rules or cancel this promotion at any time. This includes but is not limited to who can participate, how to receive points, and the exchange of points into discounts.
