Regulation Visa Scholarship Insurance

  We highly recommend that you pay special attention to the following information and regulations while you are taking classes at MLC.

 
1. You are not allowed to register for the next term under the following circumstances:  
A.  If you are absent for more than 11 in major class or 4 in elective class (this includes your leave) in one term.  
B.  If your monthly average grades are below 60%  
C. If your total average grades for one term are below 60%  
D. if you personal attitude and behavior strongly affect your class in a negative way. 
 
2. Under the following circumstances, you will be requested to withdraw from the school at once:
A. In case of your behavior inside or outside the class affects MLC's image and reputation.
B.  In case of intentional destruction of MLC property.
C.

In case of fighting, smoking ,and drinking inside school. 

     
Tuition refund regulations
     
 

  To obtain a visa, a student from abroad, and for those who have received an admission letter should go with that letter to the R. O. C. Embassy, Consulate, or Representative Agency in their area for the application of a sixty-day visitors visa at first. Visitor visas are initially valid for only those sixty days. However, upon students arrival in Taiwan, they may apply for the further two sixty-day extensions. After studying for four consecutive months, students may apply for a resident visa.

  With these documents, please go to the Immigration Office. Fill out a "visa extension" form and proceed to the visa extension counters.

 

Note that late application for extending visa is not acceptable. The applicants may be requested a fine (NTD1,000-5,000) and a trip off Taiwan in order to apply for a new visa. 

You can only extend your visa twice. After two extensions, you will have to either leave Taiwan or apply for a Resident Visa. 

 

Applying For A Resident Visa  (Alien Resident Certificate-ARC)

  Applicants must have studied at our learning center for at least four months and have pre-paid for the following three-month term. The Resident Visa Application form may be obtained at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Complete the application form. Finding a Taiwanese friend to be your sponsor will help the process, bring the necessary documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and apply. The process will take at least one week.

1.  Passport 
2. Certificate of enrollment 
3.  Attendance records 
4.  Financial statement (showing at least US$2000 or NT$50,000 in a Taiwanese bank account to support you while in Taiwan)
5.  Application fee NTD3,000  for a multiple-entry and NTD2,200 for a single-entry ARC. For American, the ARC application fee is NTD4,100.
6.  Two photos (2" with white background color)
7.  A study plan
After receiving your Resident Visa, you have to go to the  Immigration Office to validate your new visa.

5.  Application fee NT$1,000
   
Changing Your Visa in Taipei

  If your visa has a "No Extension Permitted" stamp or was a short-term visa (two weeks or one month ) and the purpose of your visit to Taiwan was to study Chinese, you might like to try changing your visa in Taipei.

 

Required documents:
1.  Passport 
2. A diploma or transcript from your school in your country 
3.  Financial statement 
4.  Certificate of enrollment
5.  One photo  (2" with white background color)

  For a student who is having an ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) for more than 4 months, should apply for the National Health Insurance. Please follow the steps as seen below:

Step 2.

Bring ARC card, the insurance sheet (the one that Administration Division gave you) and one photo (2"), and then go to The Bureau of National Health Insurance to take insurance IC card.

 The Bureau will send the bill to remind you to pay NTD604 every month.
