MLC is located in the heart of metropolitan Taipei, which has all the conveniences of the west and maintains its pleasantly active tone into the night, making it safer on average than most western cities. Post office, library and park are only blocks away. Students can participate in numerous local activities experiencing first-hand the richness of the Chinese people and culture. Taipei is your Chinese home, away from home. The Mandarin Learning Center of the Chinese Culture University is the place to study Chinese.

| The weather is sub-tropical. One can expect the summer, from May to September, to be hot and humid with the average temperature reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Autumn is usually mild and winter ushers in the rainy season, which lasts through spring until next summer. | ||||

Dormitories are not available to the students of the Mandarin Learning Center. However, we do provide an apartment list that is screened by our staff. The average cost of housing in Taipei is between NT$ 7,000 and NT$10,000 per month. For a short stay, hostels in Taipei offer comfortable accommodations and reasonable prices. |

| The costs of living in Taipei are comparable to New York City. The budget of the living costs is no higher than US$ 800 per month. There is no shortage of inexpensive eateries in town. | ROC laws provide legal channels by which foreign students can work in Taiwan. Potential employers must obtain work permits on behalf of foreign students by applying to the Ministry of Education. This includes cases where foreign students are hired to give private tutorials. Any foreign student who is pursuing language study in Taiwan and who wishes to be eligible to work must have following requirements: | |||||
