Mandarin Learning Center at Chinese Culture University --Curriculum

Upon arriving at the MLC, placement evaluations are given to each student in order to determine his or her appropriate class level. Each level includes training in the four major language learning areas：speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We teach traditional characters and both zhu-yin (bo po mo pho) pronunciation and pinyin systems. Study materials for different levels are as follows:

* BASIC

3. Basic 3：Practical Audio-Visual Chinese (3) L1-7

* INTERMEDIATE

2. Intermediate 2：Practical Audio-Visual Chinese (4) L1-7
3. Intermediate 3：Practical Audio-Visual Chinese (4) L8-14
4. Inter-advanced 1：Everyday Chinese (3) L1-6
5. Inter-advanced 2：Everyday Chinese (3) L7-12
6. Inter-advanced 3：Practical Audio-Visual Chinese (5) L1-6

Students may choose any of the elective classes to join (Basic 1-3 students are excluded).

Please refer to the MLC for the latest price list and class schedule. The tuition fee is raised since the study hours each week has been increased from September 1, 2008. Student visa holders must take both major and elective classes.

＊ Minimum: 20 hours. Classroom and teacher are pre-arranged. Postponement due to personal reasons can be made once with approved document/s.

　　Our staffs are enthusiastic and willing to assist students who are far from home. Moreover, our academic director is accessible to both students and teachers and welcomes any comments and suggestions for the betterment of our institution. On the other hand, our teachers are highly experienced and dedicated professionals. Our teaching staff are highly experienced and committed to solving students’ problems. In addition, to maintain our high teaching quality, teachers are all university graduates. They must attend seminars and workshops once every two weeks to learn the latest in Chinese language teaching methods. Furthermore, we plan to arrange get togethers for MLC students and students from The College of Arts in CCU. Chinese dance, music, painting, and calligraphy will be introduced and discussed.
